Australian Aboriginal art - Australian Aboriginal art refers to art done by Australian Aborigines, covering art that pre-dates European colonisation as well as contemporary art by Aborigines based on traditional culture. It is not restricted to merely paintings, but includes a wide variety of media including wood carving, sculpture and ceremonial clothing.
Bark painting - Bark painting is an Australian Aboriginal art-form which is done on the interior strip of a tree bark. Also called "tapa", the pieces are made by scratching or painting the designs.
Art of Australia - Australia is home to perhaps the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world - that is, those of the Aboriginal Australians, an artistic tradition that began to receive international recognition in the late 20th century. It has also produced notable artists coming out of Western traditions whose most distinctively Australian feature is the gradual development of ways to represent the equally distinctive Australian landscape.
Albert Tucker (artist) - Albert Tucker (December 29, 1914- October 23, 1999) was an Australian artist, pivotal in the development of 20th century Australian Expressionist painting. Tucker is known as a member of the so-called "Heide Circle", a group of leading modern artists and writers that centred on the art patrons John Reed and Sunday Reed, whose home, "Heide", located in Bulleen, near Heidelberg (outside Melbourne) was a haven for the group, and is now a museum of modern Australian art.
